Listen to Records is a huge record company. Large media conglomerates managing record labels in New York, Chicago, L.A. and even Bentonville, Arkansas, all look to us for the secrets to successful record label management. What’s the secret? Well, you've got to find something you love to do and do it for the rest of your life. For us, it’s running this huge record company.

Huge is relative because we don’t have a corporate office or our name on any skyscrapers or posters in the electronics section of your local big box store. We’re huge in our ideas and our passion for what we hope to accomplish. Listen to Records is simple. Our name is our goal. Listen to what we have. Our songs are free to stream on this website. We offer this to listeners as bait and secretly hope they buy something so we can pay for this website. It cost upwards of $50,000.

Because we are a huge record label, Manifest Destiny has played a large part in our establishment. You will note we have two offices: one has been accidentally located in Akron, Ohio, to manage all East Coast and Mid-West business, the second houses our studio, production facility, and 24/7 warehouse operation in Portland, Oregon. All requests to do business west of the Mississippi must be directed here.

Mission Statement Thing:

Ideally, recorded music ought to be unpredictable, thoughtful, and well orchestrated. In reality most popular recorded music is somewhere closer to predictable, thoughtless, and includes a perfect-pitch chorus thanks to studio magic.

Why shouldn’t recorded music try harder? After all it is recorded.

Listen to Records was founded on the idea that today’s music executives don’t really know what they’re doing. We're unlike most labels in that we aren't set up to make money. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to offer our music in MP3 or compact disc formats for free. However, we can afford to sell knowledge, ideas, and well crafted records at a fair price. Listeners are always welcome to come back to this site, listen to any of our songs, read the back story, and learn the lyrics anytime... day or night... from anywhere in the world... thanks to the Internet... and Timothy Berners-Lee.
