| a TRIBUTE to WES ANDERSON'S EARLY WORK by the First Act |
||
Bottle Rocket was released in 1996 and was considered a failure by Hollywood's standards. Thankfully, some did take notice of it (e.g. Ben Stiller, Conan O’Brien and Martin Scorsese). The film is more than a 92-minute journey into the lives of three young Texans trying to make it in the world of crime; it's an inspirational step away from the standard issued, multi-million-dollar-budgeted epic; an aesthetically pleasing one at that. The story features Dignan, Anthony, and Bob, played by the brothers Owen and Luke Wilson and Robert Musgrave respectively. A third brother, Andrew, plays the role of Futureman. The Wilson's would go on to star in more mainstream movies (Owen in Zoolander and Luke in Old School).
This song was written out of sheer fondness for the film and maintains the fact that Wes Anderson is one of the First Act's main influences. Our hope is that it sparkles with the same intensity and ambition as Dignan's 25 Year Plan.
